Hello! My name is Tom Delnicki and I’m the State Representative from the 14th General Assembly District of South Windsor. I was elected in November of 2016 to my first-term and I look forward to serving the great people of South Windsor for another term! Currently, I’m on the state legislature’s Planning and Development Committee, the Banking Committee and the Insurance Committee. However, you may know me best for fighting to help those South Windsor and Connecticut residents that are dealing with crumbling foundations.
I’m a lifelong resident of South Windsor. I grew up at 130 Felt Road, where I am the fourth generation to live on what is the last piece of our Family Farm, that was established by my great grandfather Thomas in the early 1900s. I graduated from South Windsor High in 1974 and thereafter I attended the University of Connecticut. Currently, I’m retired from the Metropolitan District as a Facilities/Maintenance Supervisor. Perhaps my biggest claim to fame is my spectacular Holiday Light Display that I host every December at my home on Felt road.
I’ve served on the South Windsor Town Council from 1995 to 2007 and 2009 to present. During my time on the Council I have been Mayor twice, Deputy Mayor, served on the first Strategic Planning Committee formed in 1999, I chaired the Ethics Committee, Audit Committee, Public Health and Safety Committee and Public Building and Land Naming Committee. Prior to my election to the Town Council I was a member of the Board of Education and a member of the Inland Wetlands/Conservation Commission. Around town I’m known for my collaborative approach, where I try to be accessible to all town residents, thereby listening to their concerns.
My moto is simple: “I work for everyone – Democrat, Republican, Independent.”
